About

A quieter way to garden

Comber Garden Services is one local gardener with battery-powered tools, a native-first planting habit, and a short list of small properties looked after properly.

The story

Started in one garden

Comber Garden Services started with a simple idea: a neighbourhood gardener should leave behind a better garden and nothing else: no fumes, no roar, no plastic-wrapped plants that won't last the season.

It also means being straight about what I do and don't do yet. Beds, lawns and turf, hedges, cleanups and plant recommendations are mine. Full planting designs and tree work are not, and I will tell you that before you have to ask.

It began close to home, with one garden and a set of battery tools, and it has stayed deliberately small since: a short list of clients, mostly smaller properties, visited on a regular round, with the work done the way it would be done at home.

How I work

Four things that don't change

Quiet on purpose

Every power tool runs on batteries and half the work is done by hand. The loudest thing in the yard should be the birds coming back to it.

Native plants first

Plants suited to the local soil settle in faster, drink less water, and feed the pollinators. That's where every recommendation starts.

Small by design

One gardener, a short list of clients, a tight radius around home, and small properties first. That's what keeps visits reliable and the work personal.

Leave only the garden

No fumes, no roar, no plastic-wrapped plants that won't last the season. When the work is done, a better garden is the only trace of it.

"The first thing I noticed wasn't the garden, it was the quiet. Then the garden caught up, and now it's the nicest thing on the street."
